Video clips from the 2011 North American Print Biennial
This series of video clips of world-renowned artist Jim Dine speaking to Clifford Ackley, Department Chair and Ruth and Carl J. Shapiro Curator of Prints and Drawings at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston was filmed at Framingham State University as part of The Boston Printmakers 2011 North American Print Biennial. The video segments turn out to be a remarkable confluence of art media: printmaking, drawing and sculpture, all found within the life and work of one artist, Jim Dine.
Dine was the 2011 North American Print Biennial juror. The conversation between him and Ackley is remarkably cohesive, friendly and informative since they have known each other for decades. Ackley naturally pursues conversation topics that bring out the liveliest qualities of Dine’s life and work, leading him to admit to being both a liar and a thief (all in jest, of course).
The Boston Printmakers is honored to have worked with Dine and Ackley in 2011. We are pleased to present this series of video clips for the public to enjoy.
