This will be the ninth year that BP members have been awarded Fellowships at Scuola, so if you have questions we can connect you to a former fellow. Please contact renee@bostonprintmakers.org.

Each year, the Scuola team selects the BP member for the Visiting Guest Artist Full Fellowship.

The 2026 dates are September 1 – 30, 2026. The BP Visiting Guest Artist will receive keys and full access to the studios, 7 days a week. The BP Visiting Guest Artist Fellow is paired with an artist from the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers (RE) and an exhibition of the two selected artists is held at the Scuola Grafica gallery.

Note: The Boston Printmakers received partial funding from a generous patron to support housing for the 2026 program in Venice. For this donation, The Boston Printmakers suggests the 2026 fellowship recipient thank the patron with a representative print from their time there.

BP continues to seek additional funding for housing, and our intent is for all or most of the cost to be covered (meaning that a member receiving the Guest Artist Fellowship may have to pay something toward their one-month stay).

BP will share options for living with the RE Visiting Guest Artist Fellow and will have parameters for the budgeted amount that cannot be exceeded. This process will occur after Scuola selects 2026 BP and RE recipients this November.

BP Members discount for Partial Fellowship (scroll below Full Fellowship)

Any member of The Boston Printmakers who wishes to apply for a Partial Fellowship at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica will be granted a 10% discount on residency fees.

Please read carefully all information about a studio residency provided at the link to learn about programs and how to apply for a 1 to 12 week residency for professional and practicing artists. Projects may include printmaking, book arts, drawing, painting, illustration, and calligraphy.

The Resident Artists have access to the Scuola’s studios seven days per week. The Scuola is located in the heart of Venice and is equipped for most printmaking methods, including lithography, letterpress, intaglio, and less-toxic techniques.

Professional Scholarship
The Boston Printmakers and Anderson Ranch partner to offer a summer scholarship for a fabulous one-week workshop in Printmaking at beautiful Anderson Ranch, in the mountains of Colorado. This is an opportunity to be exposed to new ideas, techniques, and some of the best contemporary professional printmakers. This award covers FULL tuition and a cash stipend of $500 from The Boston Printmakers toward your travel, housing, or other costs of the workshop.

  • Applicants must select 2-3 preferred workshops, ANY OF WHICH YOU ARE WILLING TO ATTEND.
  • The recipient’s actual enrollment will be done directly with Anderson Ranch.
  • Note: The Ranch may need to change some workshops due to cancellation or other reasons, so final arrangements are made by the applicant directly with Anderson Ranch.
  • Your application to this program constitutes a commitment to accept the grant if chosen and to participate in the summer workshop.
  • The awardee will be chosen by lottery.
  • Past recipients must wait 5 years to apply for this scholarship.
  • Receipt deadline is Jan. 17 (11:59pm EST)
  • Notification of the 2024 awardee (and runners-up) only by January 20 via email.
